About Eklavya

Who We Are

Eklavya School, Bengaluru was started in 2023. It is associated with Eklavya School, Ahmedabad – one of India’s top 20 schools. Eklavya School, Bengaluru believes that all children have gifts and talents that they must discover on their own. Our role therefore, is to help them in this process of self-discovery by providing a safe, loving environment with exciting and thought-provoking learning challenges. These will help the children develop into capable, self-reliant and independent individuals who can make their own path.

Eklavya School, Bengaluru aims to provide all-round development to each student, laying emphasis on academics, sports, music, fine arts, communication and theatre, through an innovative curriculum designed to make learning enjoyable.

Our Team

Niyati Handa

Co Founder, Eklavya School Bangalore

A passionate and enthusiastic educator for the past 7 years, Niyati has worked with both kindergarteners as well as teenagers in the classroom. She enjoys interacting with children and adolescents alike, and thinks of them as an endless reservoir of knowledge, happiness and love.

She has completed a BA in English Literature from University of Warwick, an MA in Postcolonial Studies from SOAS, University of London, a Bachelor’s in Education from Gujarat University and a AMI Diploma in Montessori (Casa dei Bambini 3-6 years) from Munich, Germany.

Her experiences as an educator range from teaching the IB, IGCSE and ICSE boards in India to teaching kindergarteners in Montessori children’s houses in Munich, Germany.

Sobhana Menon

Principal, Eklavya School Bangalore

A warm, caring, sensitive and dedicated person, Sobhana has been working with children aged 2 years to 18 years since the past 24 years. Sobhana is inspired by the teachings of Maria Montessori and firmly follows the dictat: “Children are endowed with a power that enables them to reconstruct things which are very complex, and they do so with great pleasure.” She also embraces Froebel’s pedagogy which tells that ‘play drives learning’.

An MA in English Literature with a Bachelor’s in Education and a Diploma in Child Psychology, Sobhana has been an Educator and then Principal of the Pre School and Junior School of Eklavya School Ahmedabad. She has also been the Founder Principal of Nalanda International School, Vadodara.
